Telehealth at Kramer Davis Health: What to Know
At Kramer Davis Health, we’re proud to offer telehealth services as part of our mission to deliver compassionate, expert care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Telehealth makes it easier to connect with your provider from the comfort of your home — but there are some important things to know before your virtual visit.
When Telehealth Is Available
Not all visits or services are appropriate for telehealth. Telehealth is only available when:
- You already have an established relationship with your provider
- The type of visit is approved for telehealth (some appointment types require in-person care)
- The service is considered clinically appropriate and safe to conduct virtually
For example, annual assessments and certain evaluations must always be done in person.
Not sure if your upcoming appointment qualifies for telehealth? Just ask your provider — they’ll guide you.
Privacy Matters — For You and Us
Your privacy is a top priority. Telehealth visits at Kramer Davis Health are conducted using HIPAA-compliant platforms, and our providers are trained to protect your Protected Health Information during every virtual session.
But privacy is a two-way street. To keep your health information safe, we ask that you:
- Join your telehealth visit from a quiet, private location
- Use a secure internet connection on a trusted device
- Make sure others can’t overhear or see your screen during your appointment
Our providers are doing the same — ensuring their space is secure, their device is compliant, and your visit is confidential.
Privacy isn’t just important — it’s essential. If privacy cannot be reasonably maintained on either side, the visit may need to be rescheduled or moved to an in-person setting.
Questions About Telehealth?
If you have any questions about how telehealth works or whether it’s right for your visit, please talk to your provider. They’ll help you understand your options and ensure you’re receiving the safest, most appropriate care.
Before Your Visit
To make your telehealth visit smooth:
- Have your device charged and tested before the appointment
- Be ready in your private location a few minutes early
- Keep any medications or documents you want to discuss close by
- Use headphones if you’re worried about sound privacy
Reminder: Telehealth Isn’t for Emergencies
If you or someone you love is experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Telehealth is not a substitute for emergency care.
At Kramer Davis Health, we’re committed to making healthcare more accessible — not less personal. Telehealth is just one of the ways we stay connected to you while keeping your care at the center of everything we do.
